Whitewater Watershed Lego ModelWhitewater State Park partnered with Winona State University to build a to-scale topographic model of the Whitewater Watershed constructed entirely out of LEGO bricks, more than 26,000 of them! While the permanent home of the model is the Visitor Center at Whitewater State Park, the model will travel around the community to libraries, farmers markets, and fairs to engage folks in water conversations.
What are the connections between topography, land use, and water quality in southeastern Minnesota? Where do the rain drops falling on my yard end up? How does water connect me to my neighbors and those downstream? Explore, investigate, and connect with the Lego Model.

The Whitewater River’s story is a story of the land around it.
The health of a river depends on what we do on the land within its watershed. Much of the Whitewater Watershed is cultivated farm land. Conservation practices such as rotational grazing, no-till, and contour strip farming help keep the river and those who depend on it healthy,
